Where is the oil pressure regulating valve installed?
The oil pressure regulating valve is usually installed on the outlet oil passage of the oil pump. It is mainly used in the engine lubrication system to adjust the oil pressure and limit the engine lubrication system. If damaged, it will cause problems such as low oil pressure and insufficient fuel.
How to adjust the oil pressure regulating valve:
1. The oil pressure is coordinated by the spring and the vacuum of the air chamber. When the oil pressure is higher than the standard value, the high-pressure fuel pushes the diaphragm upward, the ball valve opens, and the excess fuel flows back to the fuel tank through the return pipe;
2. When the pressure is lower than the standard value, the spring will compress the diaphragm, close the ball valve, and stop oil return. The function of the pressure regulator is to keep the pressure in the oil circuit constant. If the oil pressure is too low, the fuel injector will inject too little fuel or no fuel at all. If the oil pressure is too high, it will damage the oil circuit or the injector.
3. There is a diaphragm inside the pressure regulator, which can control the opening and closing of the pressure valve. When the oil pressure is lower than a certain value, the pressure valve closes and the oil pump increases the pressure in the oil circuit. When the specified pressure is exceeded, the diaphragm opens and the overpressured fuel flows back to the fuel tank through the return pipe to reduce pressure.
The function of pressure regulating valve:
The function of the oil pressure regulating valve (also known as the pressure limiting valve) is to limit the maximum pressure of the lubrication system and prevent the lubrication system from generating excessive pressure, which may cause damage to the lubrication system components and oil leakage in the oil passages. Keep the fuel pressure consistent with the atmospheric pressure or intake pipe negative pressure, that is, keep the difference between the injection pressure and the injection environment pressure constant. The amount of fuel injection required by the engine is controlled based on the length of power-on time provided by the ECU to the injector. At this time, the oil pressure must be limited. Otherwise, for the same power-on time, if the oil pressure is high, more fuel will be injected, and if the oil pressure is low, there will be less fuel injection. Only when the fuel injection pressure is constant, can the power-on time be long, the fuel injection volume be large, the power-on time be short, and the fuel injection volume be small.
Working principle of pressure regulating valve:
By moving the OCV valve back and forth, the oil is controlled to enter the advance oil chamber or retard oil chamber of the CVVT to provide oil pressure to move the camshaft to a certain angle so that the engine valve reaches the optimal opening or closing time and angle under different loads! The engine fuel economy is greatly improved.
