When the engine is running normally, the alternator supplies power to all electrical equipment except the starter, it also charges the battery. The alternator is the main power source. 

Generator Alternator can be divided into 3 types as per different attributes:

1. According to the overall structure, it can be divided into:

ordinary alternator, integral alternator, and pump alternator;

2. According to the rectifier structure, it can be divided into: 

six-tube alternator, eight-tube alternator, and nine-tube alternator;

3. According to the grounding form of the magnetic field winding, it can be divided into: 

internal grounding type alternator and external grounding type alternator.
