In order to ensure that the crawler walking device can work normally and reduce the impact load and additional power consumption during walking, each crawler track is equipped with a tensioning device to maintain a certain degree of tension in the crawler track. The track tensioning device must use the guide wheel to tighten the track. However, after a certain period of use, the tensioning spring buffer device of the excavator will also malfunction, thus affecting the normal operation of the excavator.
1. Improper adjustment of tension buffer device
When the tension is insufficient, the track will be loose, and the track will easily fall off during sharp turns, and the buffering amount is insufficient, which will easily increase the dynamic load between parts; when the tension is excessive, the wear of the "four wheels and one belt" will be accelerated.
2. Damage to parts of the tensioning buffer device
(1) Adjustment screw damage
The main defect of the adjusting screw is that the thread is damaged and cannot be adjusted; the bending of the screw causes the guide wheel to skew and deviate.
(2) Buffer spring bends, elastic force decreases and breaks
Excessive bending of the buffer spring will cause deflection. Excessive reduction in elastic force or breakage will reduce the buffering efficiency and easily damage the spring center rod.
(3) The center tie rod is broken
The breakage of the central tie rod is mainly caused by the sudden compression and relaxation of the spring when passing an obstacle, causing impact or tensile load on the tie rod.
Tension spring buffer device
(4) Damage to the hydraulic tensioning device
If a hydraulic tensioning device is used, the damage to the push rod, buffer spring, center tie rod, etc. will be the same as above. Other damages are: the mating surfaces of the oil cylinder and the piston are worn, especially the piston sealing element is damaged, the tensioning grease enters the low-pressure chamber, and the tensioning device fails. There are many forms of crawler tensioning devices, and hydraulic tensioning devices are widely used. It uses a hand pump to inject butter into the tensioning device, and the oil cylinder and plunger adjust the position of the guide wheel to achieve the tensioning of the track.
