A crane usually has two crawlers. These two crawlers are called crawler chassis and are the support and propulsion part of the crane. In modern engineering machinery, these two tracks are usually composed of track chains, track shoes, track wheels, etc., and can achieve functions such as forward, backward, left and right turns through a two-way hydraulic drive system.
Crawler tracks are key components of cranes for construction, transportation and maintenance. During use, the crawler tracks can play the following roles:
1). Provide support: The crawler tracks can bear the weight of the crane and disperse it to the ground, ensuring the stability of the crane.
2). Provide traction: When the crawler track rolls, it can generate reaction force, allowing the crane to travel on uneven ground, improving its passability and transportation efficiency.
3). Reduce damage to the ground: Because the crawler tracks are wider and have a larger contact area with the ground, damage to the ground can be reduced in complex terrains such as mud and snow.
4). Adjust the height: The angle between the crawler slope and the horizontal plane can change the height of the crane to facilitate construction and maintenance.
5). Care and maintenance: The crawler tracks can be disassembled and replaced to facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of the machine.
