Shipyard

Shipbuilding involves the building of large sea-going vessels, usually of steel although many other materials. Shipbuilding and boatbuilding both also involve manufacture of related marine equipment including sails, engines, electronics and other fittings.

Equipment for shipbuilding:

I. Essential equipment for shipyards

1). Slipway: Slipway is one of the most important equipment in a shipyard. It is the main support platform for the hull when building a ship. Its flatness and lifting capacity play a vital role in the quality and size control of the ship.

2). Crane: Crane is an indispensable equipment in the shipbuilding process. It is used to carry various heavy objects, including hull components, large mechanical equipment, etc., and plays an important role.

3). Air compressor: Air compressor is a special equipment for compressed air supply to various equipment, such as pneumatic tools, painting and quenching systems.

II. Steel plate processing equipment

1). Steel plate cutting machine: Steel plate cutting machine is mainly used to cut large steel plates into the shape and size required for ship manufacturing. Steel plates can be cut in different ways such as press cutting, gas cutting, flame cutting, plasma cutting, etc.

2). Steel plate polishing machine: Steel plate polishing machine is used to polish the surface of steel plates to make them smooth for subsequent painting and aluminum plate pasting processes.

3). Painting equipment: Painting equipment mainly includes sprayers, roller coating machines, brush coating machines, etc., which are essential equipment for applying various colors of anti-corrosion paint on the hull.

III. Dock repair equipment

1). Floating crane: Floating crane is the main equipment for ship repair at ports and docks, and its lifting capacity is usually up to 2,000 tons.

2). Dock repair gate: Dock repair gate is fixed at both ends of the dock, used to close the dock gate to prevent water from entering the dock, facilitating ship repair and overhaul.

3). Pump: Pump is a device used to remove water from the dock, usually using centrifugal pumps or plunger pumps.
