The clutch plate is a circular body with friction material on both sides, and the pressure plate is a steel circular object with a spring in the middle and discs on both sides.
The active part and the driven part of the clutch use the friction between the contact surfaces, or use liquid as the transmission medium (fluid coupling), or use magnetic transmission (electromagnetic clutch) to transmit torque, so that the two can Temporarily separated, they can be gradually joined, and the two parts are allowed to rotate with each other during the transmission process.
The active part of the clutch is the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. These three parts are connected to the crankshaft of the engine. The clutch cover and the flywheel are connected with bolts. As the requirements for environmental protection and safety become higher and higher, semi-metallic friction materials, composite fiber friction materials, and ceramic fiber friction materials gradually appear. Unless the clutch plate has quality problems before leaving the factory and needs to be replaced within a short period of time, generally when the clutch plate wears out, the life of the pressure plate and release bearing is basically over.
